Special Issue - Call for Papers

Remote Sensing for Sustainable Development of the Oil Palm Industry.

Deadline: 31 July 2018

Palm oil is a major agricultural crop in tropical areas. A well-managed oil palm plantation conducts plantation operations on a daily basis, including planting, manuring, pruning, weeding and harvesting and, ultimately, replanting. Remote sensing has a great deal to offer in providing important support to the sustainable management of the estates.

There have been a number of papers on remote sensing of oil palms published in the IJRS in recent years and a special session on remote sensing of oil palms will be held in the important 9th IGRSM International Conference and Exhibition on Geospatial & Remote Sensing (IGRSM 2018) to be held in April 2018 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

It is anticipated that papers included in this session will provide a substantial novel or significant contribution to this area. Papers from this conference session will likely form the basis of the special issue, but relevant papers not presented at the conference will also be considered for the special issue.
