Indigenous UAV Rustom-II of INDIA goes for successful maiden flight


The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), India's premier military research and development agency on 25th of February 2018 successfully carried out the maiden flight of the combat Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) Rustom II in Karnataka's Chitradurga.

The UAV has been named after Rustom Damania, a former professor of Indian Institute of Science.

Rustom II has an endurance of 24 hours and can conduct surveillance and reconnaissance missions.

An indigenously developed long-endurance combat-capable drone, Rustom II completed its maiden flight.

The UAV can be used as an unmanned armed combat vehicle, on the lines of the United States' Predator drone.
