Improved SRTM DEM released by NASA at 30 meter resolution!

The Shuttle Radar Topography Mission (SRTM) DEM has been improved for its height accuracy and data coverage. It has pixel size of 30m. This improved DEM data was officially released by NASA during February of this year.

A new #NASADEM dataset extends the #SRTM legacy by improving the Digitial Elevation Model (DEM) height accuracy and data coverage as well as providing additional SRTM radar-related data products.


The LP DAAC is pleased to announce the availability of NASADEM data products at 1 arc second resolution.


NASADEM extends the legacy of the Shuttle Radar Topography Mission (SRTM) by improving the digital elevation model (DEM) height accuracy and data coverage as well as providing additional SRTM radar-related data products. The improvements were achieved by reprocessing the original SRTM radar signal data and telemetry data with updated algorithms and auxiliary data not available at the time of the original SRTM processing.
